IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL CANADIAN and INTERNATIONAL FULL-TIME and PART-TIME STUDENTS 
REGARDING PAYMENT OF TUITION and SCHOOL FEES FOR FALL 2013

NOTE: PLEASE FORWARD THIS INFORMATION TO YOUR PARENTS IF THEY PAY FOR YOUR SCHOOL FEES.



PAYMENT DEADLINE DATE: AUGUST 17, 2013
(A late fee of $65.00 will apply after this date.)
Mailed payments must be postmarked no later than August 17th, 2013

All students registering at Bishop’s University are required to prepay their school fees before the start of each semester. Carefully read the instructions below.

Then Pay Your Tuition and School Fees.

1. Register for Classes Online

Register through the MyBU Self-Service portal. Detailed instructions were sent to you, including your login and password info via e-mail on July 19th, 2013.
 The same message will be re-sent shortly. Didn’t receive the email’s? Please contact the Registrar’s Office at records@ubishops.ca for your login, password and System ID number.

Once you have completed the online registration process, you will be able to view the total amount due for Fall 2013 Tuition and School Fees.

2. Paying Tuition and School Fees

View Total Charges
To see your total, in Self-Service–>click on the Finances tab –> click on Statement .

Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards
Deduct the Amount From Total Charges Manually
If you have been awarded an entrance scholarship, a bursary or other financial award from Bishop’s you should deduct half (the award is split over two semesters) of the total amount awarded from the Total Charges line on your account statement. Scholarship and bursary funds will be automatically applied directly to your account after the course add/drop deadline on September 13, 2013.

FAQ—I am Canadian. Why am I being billed International Tuition?

Note: If your file is being billed international tuition it is because we have not received your Canadian birth certificate. Please contact the admissions office or fax a copy to 819-822-9661 attention “Admissions”  or via email to the Admissions email address: admissio@UBishops.ca

Method of Payment
Online Banking (Preferred Method)
Add Bishop’s University as a payee using your student ID# as your account number. Pay your tuition through the following online banking institutions:

  • RBC
  • Scotia Bank
  • TD
  • CIBC
  • BMO
  • Desjardins
  • National Bank

Cash
Pay cash in person at the Business Office counter in McGreer.

Interac
Pay by Interac in person at the Business Office counter in McGreer.

Cheque
Make cheques payable to Bishop’s University. See mailing address in the footer of this email. US cheques are accepted (please contact the Business Office for the current exchange rate)

Credit Cards
Credit Cards and Credit Card cheques are not accepted to pay tuition. Health insurance can be paid by credit card.

Canadian Students
As a Canadian Student, you have two options.
1. You must pay your school fees in full by the deadline
OR
2. If you are waiting on loans, submit the online Promissory Note before the deadline of August 17th to avoid late fees.

Quebec Students
Student loans and Bursaries application for 13-14 is open, You are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to ensure your funding is in place for early September.

Ontario OSAP Students
All signature pages need to be sent directly to the Red River address on the form. The Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement (MSFAA) needs to be processed at your local Canada Post then mailed to the NSLSC in Mississauga. The Program Information form will be sent to Bishop’s University Business Office directly from OSAP. The Business Office will complete the form electronically.

BC Student Aid
You must apply online for your BC aid. You will receive a notification form BC to complete your Apendix 3 electronically.

All Other Provinces
If you have already applied for Aid and need the school to fill out any forms please forward the form to Bishop’s University Business Office and I will complete them for you.

International Students
International Students (non-exchange), you must pay school fees in full by the deadline and complete the online ‘Health Insurance Form‘. A late payment fee of $65.00 will apply if you send your payment after the deadline.

US Student Aid
Students applying for US student aid must contact Jamie Berwick (see below) to answer detailed questions concerning your file.

International Exchange Students
International Exchange Students are not required to pay for school fees, but must have health insurance during the full duration of their studies in Canada. You must submit your ‘Health Insurance Form’ online.
