Never a dull moment at Bishop’s University

Even though Lennoxville is a small town, there is always something going on at Bishop’s. Here is a sneak peak of just some of the main events that happen throughout the year.

Fall Semester

ORIENTATION WEEK
The best week of the entire year — even if you’re not a first year. The sun is shining, there are events every day and every night, plus you’ll meet so many new
people!

HOMECOMING
You’ll be dressed head-to-toe in purple and love every second of it! Football games, tailgates, and alumni… is there really anything better?

GAIT GATSBY
Every once in a while it’s fun to dress up, especially when you get to wear pearls or pretend you’re Leonardo DiCaprio. This event happens every fall semester at the Gait, a place you’ll probably get to know well.

DEPARTMENT WINE & CHEESE
What better way to get to know your professors on a more personal level and meet fellow students than over a glass of wine?

BISHOP’S SPEAKS
Bishop’s Speaks is organized by the SRC and allows BU professors and students to share tips on how to succeed in and outside of Bishop’s. Topics include how to develop your CV/résumé and how to pursue your passions.

DONALD LECTURE SERIES
Begins in the fall and continues throughout the entire year. This series brings speakers from all over the world to talk to the BU community. Past lecturers
have included: Naomi Klein, Edward Snowden, and Chris Hadfield.

GLOBAL AWARENESS WEEK
Hosted by the Department of Politics and International Studies, Global Awareness Week is dedicated to broadening students’ perspective on different
issues at a global level. It features guest lectures from across the field, documentaries, and interactive events.

BISHOP’S BIRTHDAY
December 9th! Mark your calendars for a day filled with purple pride and celebrations!

Winter Semester

TWO YEARS EVE
Here at Bishop’s we really like to celebrate together. So the first weekend back after winter break we recreate New Year’s Eve with our own Two Year’s celebration at the Gait!

WINTER FESTIVAL
Winter Fest, as it’s better known, is a whole weekend event that features, rail jam, games like broomball and giant Jenga, and professional Dj’s who play at the Gait.

Don’t forget to wear your purple snow gear!

and in the Sherbrooke community.

MENTAL HEALTH AND AWARENESS WEEK
The goal of this week’s events, workshops, and activities is to increase awareness and reduce stigma around mental health.

BU’S GOT TALENT
The Bishop’s MEDLIFE Chapter held its third annual BU’s Got Talent event, a fundraiser to raise awareness for medical inequity. All funds go towards providing access to healthcare, community development, and education to communities in South America.
