The Homestretch

Back at Bishop’s for my final semester. It’s somewhat daunting to think in those terms so I’m trying to take things one day at a time. After a very relaxing winter break, my girlfriend and I made the 12 hour drive from Antigonish to Lennoxville on Monday. Some of our highlights from the road:

  • Sunrise near Amherst
  • Listenting to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets audiobook (Yeah, we’re really cool)
  • Rock formations after Riviere du Loup
  • Seeing the mountains on the north side of the St. Lawrence river as we approached Quebec City
  • Sunset near Drummondville
  • Coming back to frozen water pipes

That last one was less of a highlight than it was a nuisance but we were very fortunate that when they froze they didn’t burst and leave 6 inches of water all over the basement. We’ve got things going alright now so I guess I can just go right back to taking running water for granted again like a true Canadian.

In the forecast for January (besides snow) is a whirlwind of rehearsals and other preparations for the Theatre Activ festival which begins on the 23rd. Just thinking about it is daunting and so I think I’ll go make some coffee and try and check some things off my list. Keep it real…
