20 Must-Have Items at BU
Canada Day in Quebec is synonymous with Moving Day. With many students settling into their new apartments or slowly getting ready to make the move to our Bishop’s campus, here is a list of must-have items you should bring with you to the BUbble!

1. Extension Cord/Power Bar
Outlets aren’t always in the most convenient places, so having one of these around makes plugging in all your devices a lot easier. Can one ever have too many outlets?
2. Travel Mug
On those rushed Monday mornings, having a travel mug is the perfect way to carry that much-needed coffee or tea to class.
3. Fan
Sometimes the heat of summer and early fall is a bit too warm, and having a fan just makes living in residence that much cooler and sleeping that much better.
4. Rain Boots
To keep your feet dry during the mud seasons that arrive twice a year – right before the snow arrives and after it departs. It’s been known to get a little wet around here …
5. Onesies
There is only one proper attire for late night movies with friends: onesies.
6. Costumes
There are tons of themed events and holidays going on at BU all year long. Whether it be Halloween, Happy Hour, Gait Night, or just another day on campus, there is always an excuse to wear a crazy costume.
7. Camera
A camera will be your best friend to capture all of the amazing memories of you and your friends to look back upon for years to come, or even start your own vlog.
8. 80’s Style Retro Snowsuit
Rock Winterfest and winter theme nights with your best Crazy Canucks snow gear. Ask your relatives if they have some outfits, they might surprise you with what they’ve kept stashed in the attic!
9. Body Pillow
Bringing your own pillow ensures that you get the best night’s sleep in your new room.
10. Cards / Games
A great way to entertain a bunch of friends on cold winter nights and see who the real Monopoly master is.
11. Blankets
It gets cold in the wintertime, and having a blanket (or 10) makes things so much cozier.
12. Slippers
A comfy way of getting around residence or visiting a friend in your building without having to put on actual shoes!
13. Kettle / Keurig
If you’re not a morning person, investing in one of these is perfect: you don’t even have to leave your room for that morning coffee.
14. Headphones
Campus can be a loud place, and having these with you can easily make any place a study space.
15. Fanny Pack
Sure, it sounds a little strange, but it’s the easiest way to carry your stuff around during Orientation Week or a night out. Practical AND fashionable (in the BUbble, anyways).
16. Cork board / White board
Having a board in your room is the perfect way to stay organized and personalize your space. Fill it with your schedule, to-do lists, pictures, anything to help you feel productive in your new space.
17. Bluetooth Speaker
Whether it be getting ready to go to The Gait, movie nights or just hanging out with bunch of friends, this is a must have for dorm or apartment life.
18. Mini Fridge
Sometimes leaving your room is not an option. Don’t feel that you have to cut your study session short to go to Dewies or Provigo, keep all your favourite study fuel in your very own mini fridge!
19. USB Keys or External Hard Drive
Avoid the tear-jerking event of losing a 12-page paper. Have everything backed up somewhere safe!
20. Purple EVERYTHING!
You can never have too many purple clothes or items. No matter how crazy it is, bring it! #BleedPurple
