December is Just Around the Corner

It’s crunch time ladies and gentlemen. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to the end of the semester. The workload is piling up and there are more people cramped into the library than outside in the fresh air. Mind you it’s cold outside. It feels like just yesterday that we were all outside in shorts and t-shirts throwing around a rugby ball or working on our tans. Now I need to throw on snow pants and a winter coat in order to get to class…OK, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but that time of year is quickly approaching. December is just around the corner.

Aw man, was October fun? I would argue that Halloween is the BEST DAY EVER!!! (That one was for you Bryden). I think what I like best about Halloween is scrambling to put a costume together. As a student on a tight budget, I don’t have the money to buy $100 costumes online. That’s where my BU creativity and ingenuity comes in handy. This year I was Bane from The Dark Knight Rises. I know what you’re thinking. Not very original and any excuse to where a tank top. My answers: Yes and Yes. But I did put quite a bit of work into getting the costume together. I spent three days papier-mâchéing the mask and found the rest of the costume for less that $20. Also, my roommates had to listen to me practicing my Bane impression for at least a week. The final result…

And I never broke character, which is more sad then anything. However, it was all for a good time.

What else is new? The rugby season has drawn to a close. It will be a week today since McGill took away the one thing I care about…. just kidding mom and dad, I know you’re reading. But in all seriousness, I’m a little disappointed. I feel like a little part of me is missing (which can be taken literally since the functionality of my body gets worse and worse with each passing season). The positives? It’s nice to relax a little, although I wouldn’t really say that I am relaxing with all of this work but it’s a start. Here is our team photo leading up to the game last week…

That’s a solid pic!

I wish all of you luck with the last of your midterms and essays. Keep positive and remember that the holidays are just around the corner.

I’ll talk to you in December.

Cheers!
