So what if you don’t drink… get out there and socialize!

Hey Gaiters!

It’s the week after mid-terms and everyone is slowly starting to breathe again. The panic look is gradually diminishing and now there is a look of anticipation for…. HALLOWEEKEND! It’s the weekend where one costume just does not suffice, but you need 2, possibly even more to partake in all the different types of social gatherings! People can sometimes misinterpret this weekend to believe if they are not drinkers, then they cannot go out and socialize. But that is not true! I have not had an alcoholic drink since Frosh week and still participate in events just like I plan on participating in Halloweekend.

I was just scrolling through Facebook events and I could not help notice what a huge line-up of events there is next weekend from Thursday until Sunday! Yes I know it is Halloweekend, but there are also some non-halloween events for those who would rather participate in that!

Come out to Coulter field on Thursday to cheer on our Gaiters Women Soccer Team face Laval at 8pm!

Oscar Wilde’s : The Importance of Being Earnest is a play that Bishop’s students will be performing from October 24-28 @ 8:00 each evening! The play is $10 for students and $12 for general admission! “Come out to see this renowned comedy about false identities, high society and true love.

The Bishop’s Men’s Hockey Team will be hosting a fundraiser at the Lion on October 25 @ 10:00. The theme for this event is ‘Jersey’ so if you have a jersey… come and show it off! The price for this event is $3.

Also on Thursday the 25th, the Men’s Soccer Team will be hosting a fundraiser at the Gait with the theme being ‘ 90s Dance party’ So whether you were born in the 90s or before.. go on out and show your support for our wonderful Soccer Team by paying a $2 cover and dancing the night away!

Continuing on the evening of the 25th is Jazz Jams (which occur every Thursday evening from 7:30-9:30) the event takes place in Bandeen Hall. A week in advance, the playlist is announced by Professor Andrew Macdonald and students and other Professors join him and Kevin Sullivan on stage to play some great beats!

So far Friday seems a little quiet so why not attend a STEP seminar with Dr. Fushcia Sirois from 1-2! The seminar will take place in Hamilton 304 and is called “Don’t Delay: A Student’s Guide to the Causes and Consequences of Procrastination”

On Saturday the 27th, continue to support our sports team by going to Coulter field at 1:00 to cheer on our Football Team as they play Montreal Carabins! Not a huge football fan, head on out prior to the game to eat some delicious autumn themed food- corn, chili and hotdogs! Go Gaiters Go!

To wrap up the festivities, visit the Gait on Saturday night to attend Halloween Haunt! There will be a photo booth set up for you to take some scary pictures with friends as well as prizes for best costume!

There is so much going on this weekend that I hope everyone participates in at least one activity despite how much homework they have, or whether or not they drink! Like every weekend, there are activities for everyone! It’s up to you to find them!
