Spring Break in New York

Spring Break in New York

Live, from New York, it’s Saturday night!

Okay, you got me. It’s Sunday afternoon, but you get the point. I hope everyone is enjoying the break; whether it is catching up on sleep, meeting hometown friends, or off vacationing in a much warmer climate. I’m pretty excited to report that I am here in Manhattan enjoying the lack of snow and the amazing food. I have to admit, I’m starting to get a little bit tired of choosing between Dominos and Pizza Mivan as my only options for ordering in. It’s nice to see new faces and experience a change of pace. Although, I know by the end of the week I will be craving Bishop’s once again.

I arrived in New York this Friday night after almost a full day of travel (as per Lennoxville tradition). I’m staying at my sister’s place for the week and she has planned a full weeks worth of activities for me. SUPER EXCITED! Yesterday, we started off the day with a squash and onion Knish (a traditional Jewish pastry) topped with poached eggs, goat cheese, and sour cream. Jealous yet? We then went on a tour of NBC studios and saw the sets of Doctor Oz, the Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon, and SNL (actually witnessed Bill Hader, Bobby Moynihan, and Taran Killan practicing for last night’s show). We strolled through Times Square and Central Park, and ended off our journey at FAO Schwarz (the greatest Toy store in the world), where I took the following picture with a LEGO stormtrooper I made:

Okay, maybe I didn’t make it, but my nerd senses are totally going off the radar right now. Loving it!

I started off the day today with a little bit of New York hot yoga for increased flexibility and strength J. It’s really the same as doing hot yoga in any other city, except once in awhile you see a celebrity that you are too shy to say hi to. Later tonight I will be going to Gotham Comedy Club, one of the very best comedy venues in the city. I’m really looking forward to it.

Perhaps what I am most looking forward to though is seeing the New Jersey Devils game and Museum of Natural History later on in the week. I’ll let you know how that goes next time!

Enjoy the rest of your time off. I hope it is as adventurous and exciting as mine has been. See you back at Bishop’s.
