Welcome to the Bishop’s Bubble: Winter Edition

Welcome to the Bishop’s Bubble: Winter Edition

Hello guys and gals and welcome to Bishop’s for the winter semester. Although those of you who are brave enough to enter during the winter semester are less numerous, I’m glad you are deciding to join us! First off, my name is Marie-Antoinette and I am a second year business student, majoring in Human Resources. I am also a resident assistant in the Kuehner residence. Since you’re coming into the wonderful world of Bishop’s for the winter semester and there are less orientation activities than in the Fall, I figured I could give you brave souls some tips on starting out at Bishop’s and making your semester or next years the best they can be by starting off with the right foot.

Whether you are an out of town, out of province, international or exchange student, the first pointer I can give you is to get to know your fellow residents and your RA. Great ways to do this include attending events organized by your RA and getting involved. Club day is just around the corner! Make sure you visit club day when it happens and you sign up for any and all clubs that interest you. This way you are sure to meet people who share your interests and hobbies.

Another great pointer is to ask. If you don’t know something, ask! Your RA is a great resource for anything you are not sure about. They can answer your questions about doing laundry, events happening and help you with any issues you might encounter. If they can’t answer you, they will be able to direct you in the right direction to find the information you need.

I look forward to seeing you around campus during the winter semester and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out to me on Facebook or by e-mail mbertrand14@ubishops.ca. In the meantime, here are a few of the events that will be happening in January:
