Catch up with valedictorians: Caitlin Johannesson ‘09

They proudly represented their graduating class. But what happens after they walk the stage? In this series, we’re catching up with past Bishop’s University valedictorians to see where life has taken them since their big day. From her time at Bishop’s to her journey beyond, Caitlin Johannesson, Class of 2009, shares where she is now and things not to miss out on.

Where are you now?

I live in Burlington, ON, with my two kids and husband Erik, who is also a BU grad from 2009! I work in communications at a children’s hospital and have been there for almost 15 years!

How did your time at Bishop’s shape your career?

Community and connection have always been important to me. It’s something I loved about my Bishop’s experience, which really helped me thrive and has definitely shaped who I am today. The small environment gave me confidence to join in, raise my hand, try new things, speak up, and essentially be me.

I’m forever grateful.

Tips and advice for current Bishop’s students:

My best memories are being a frosh leader, Halloweens, Homecoming, and breakfast at Pizzaville. Don’t miss out!
